Darkvision. You can see in dim light as if it were brilliant light within 60 feet of you, and in darkness as if it were dim light. Only hues of gray can be seen in complete darkness. Menacing. People tend to get uneasy when they are near you. You improve your Intimidation ability.
Increase in Ability Score. Oni Magic raises your Intelligence score by 1. Blue oni have the ability to summon their natural magic, which becomes stronger as they gain strength. You've seen the cantrip with the swirling lights. When you reach 3rd level, you may perform the charm somebody spell once and then need to rest for a long time before casting it again. For these spells, your spellcasting ability is intelligence.
Half-Oni are not born from a loving relationship; instead, the Oni parent will often use magic to disguise their true form and have their partner fall in love with them before disappearing; other Oni will take on the form of someone their partner knows and use that to form the relationship and sow discord when it is revealed, even if it is not believed; and finally, some Oni do not use subtlety and simply perform their act with their true form.
So in our new campaign, I've had a handful of men racing in unique events. We've been playing my homemade system for years and are excited to test out DnD 5e. So I've seen both of those races on dandwiki and drastically nerfed them, but I'd love to hear your thoughts, and maybe add in some more balancing or subrace choices (Since there are none).
