His true purpose as the student council treasurer was to depose Kirari and take over as president of the student council. Before getting hospitalized after losing a gambling battle to Yumeko, his hair becomes white owing to the shock of his underestimate of his opponent. He subsequently reappeared in the manga's 'Re-Election Arc,' becoming Yumeko's ally.
Because the other players are concerned about a collective loss, everyone pays all coins. That is just what Kaede and Yumeko hoped for.
