Scarlet Witch's big costume reveal was the first time in a long time that I found myself getting enthusiastic about clothing. I've spent the past year dressed in sweats, cotton shirts, and baggy hoodies, much like Wanda in the Modern Family-esque episode. I've been at ease, but I haven't felt really myself. Scarlet Witch's big reveal was more than simply a fun and quirky tribute to her comic book background; it was a reflection of how much our clothing reveals about how we identify ourselves. Wanda has spent the whole of WandaVision disguised as the ladies she admires. She transforms into herself when she dons the red and black armor. She transforms into the Scarlet Witch. There were a number of things about the WandaVision finale that I didn't enjoy. I'm disappointed we never found out who Jimmy Woo (Randall Park) was there to check up on in the Witness Protection Program. I despised Wanda's ability to abuse the inhabitants of Westview without consequence. I can't wait to find out what happened to Seor Scratchy! However, I have no concerns with the Scarlet Witch's new attire.
Wanda says in the same interview that Vision is a part of her since she was able to make a version of him because to the chunk of the Mind Stone that's internalized in her, as well as the memories she has of him. The concept that family is a part of you is reiterated throughout the series, with Wanda even telling Billy, Tommy, and Vision this before they are separated. She understands that even though she's leaving Westview and the family she's built behind, they'll always be a part of her soul, thus it seems logical that she'd add a Vision element into her new dress to signify this. Interestingly, this suit looks to be quite similar to the one Wanda wore in the final moments of Avengers: Age of Ultron as one of the team's newest members. Interestingly, the suit featured for for a few seconds in the blockbuster sequel and was never seen again, since Wanda had a completely new appearance in Captain America: Civil War.
Elizabeth's new Scarlet Witch outfit, on the other hand, is already well-known. According to Matt Shakman, "When she first appeared in that dress, we were in a dusty field across from our sound stages...and she was cloaked...to keep any photographers at bay. Then we removed the cloak, and there stood the Scarlet Witch."
