As directed, he submits his omni-directional mobility gear to the Military Police Regiment for examination in the aftermath of the fight of Trost District as part of the inquiry into the murders of the two captured Titans, suspected to have been murdered by a soldier wearing ODM gear. Despite his reservations about fighting the Titans again, he chooses to join the Scout Regiment. [6]He is one of the troops seated on top of one of the Giant Trees, along with the others, waiting for news from Levi's Squad. [11] He and the others are shown returning from the disastrous 57th Scouting Mission[12], and he is afterwards seen in the field riding a horse with Sasha Braus, Reiner Braun, Bertholdt Hoover, Christa Lenz, and Ymir.
